Intakes in Ireland:
Two major intakes in Ireland are
- Spring Intake (February)
- Autumn intake (September – October)
Spring Intake: It is available only in certain universities with limited courses and not for all the programs. To apply for this intake, the application has to be submitted at least 3 to 4 months prior to the start date.
Autumn Intake: Also called as Fall intake, it is the major intake where all universities are open for all courses to apply. This intake commences in the month of September or October. For this intake, the applications have to be submitted by April – May. Scholarships and other grants are available and need to be applied well ahead.

Ireland Student Visa Processing
NORMAL VISA:
- Applications must be lodged at the VFS centre at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed dates of travel.
- Students must have an unconditional offer and he/she should pay a minimum deposit of 6000 Euros if the fee is 12000 Euros or less and 50% of the tuition fee if the fee is more than 12000 Euros.
- Student Applications lodged 3 weeks or less prior to the proposed date of travel will not be processed. The 3-week deadline is for the file to reach the visa office in New Delhi and not the time of submission in the VFS office.
APPROVAL IN PRINCIPAL SCHEME (AIP):
- Apply with the conditional offer (pending final year mark sheets and provisional degree)
- Students must have paid a minimum deposit of 6000 Euros.
- Application to be lodged at least 7 weeks before the course start date.
- Once the final year mark sheet and provisional degree have been submitted to the Ireland Embassy, New Delhi, the visa will be issued.

B) Passport:
- Original Passport and photocopy of first and last page of the same.
- One recent passport-sized photograph not more than 6 months old.
- Student should submit all previous passports along with a photocopy of each page of all the passport(s) submitted.
C) Original Police Clearance Certificate from Passport Office.
D) Original plus one copy for each of the following documents:
• Acceptance Letter and confirmation of fees paid
• Statement of Purpose.
• Brief CV.
• Class 10th Mark Sheet & Certificate.
• Class 12th Mark Sheet & Certificate.
• Graduation Mark Sheet and certificate (In case of PG Course).

E) Financial Documents:

- Bank Statement & Bank Balance Certificate (Last 6 Months): Total tuition fees + €12,000 living expenses for
each year. - Bank Loan Sanction Letter and the documents of the property mortgaged with its valuation report (If any).
- Income Tax Return Papers of the sponsor for the last 3 years
- Fixed deposit receipts should be submitted along with a Fixed Deposit bank certificate (On bank letterhead)
F) Medical Insurance is mandatory (Private Insurance is also acceptable).
- Note 1: Please provide a Photocopy of all documents the student wish to have returned to him.
- Note 2: Please provide full contact details for all student sponsors.
- If they are not directly related to students, e.g. Mother/Father/Sibling, please explain the relationship and provide some evidence of this.
- Special Note: Spouse is not allowed to apply for Student Dependent Visa.
Details on GARDA Registration
Initially, student will be getting visa for 30 to 90 days. Student will have to register at the
Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) soon after the student arrives in Ireland.
The below documents are required:
- Passport
- Student ID card (provided by the school/university in Ireland).
- A letter from the Registrar’s office of the school/university stating that the student is a registered student and stating the start date and completion date of his/her course.
- The student is required to show a part of his/her living expenses i.e. a minimum of €3000 to the visa office in his/her Irish bank statement.
- A €300 fee (credit/debit card ‐ no cash accepted).
