LEARN HOW TO BOOK YOUR IELTS TEST

Before booking the IELTS tests, there are certain requisites that need to be fulfilled such as
- A valid Passport
- Deciding on the type of IELTS you opt for.
- Finalising the date of your test.
Let’s look into detail about each requirement.
- A valid Passport – Your passport is the only accepted ID proof for booking the IELTS test. It should be valid at the time of booking. Expired Passports will be rejected and your test cannot be booked.
- Deciding on the type of IELTS you opt for – Test takers will take the test for different reasons such as Education, Immigration, PR and so. So it is important to decide which type of IELTS is required for the purpose of your overseas career. The types of IELTS are;
- IELTS Academic,
- IELTS General,
- ELTS UKVI,
- Life skills.
- Finalising the date of your test – Fixing up the date is a very important decision since a lot of factors depend on the date you decide. The date of start of your academic year, or the application of PR visa and so. Also, you need to make sure you would be able to take up the test on the fixed date or you will be end up losing the entire fee or a refund with some deductions.
IELTS test booking procedure
Step 1:
Before proceeding to IDP website for booking, scan your passport – front page and last page and a passport size photo with better quality of size as prescribed in the website.
Step 2:
Log in to IDP website for booking the test. Enter your Test type, Test Module and Test City and click “Book Now“.
Step 3:
In this page, you will be asked to fill in your basic details such as Name, Email id, Phone number, Passport No, Valid from/upto, and DOB. This is the first page of the 7-page registration process. Once you click submit, it will take you to the next page.
Step 4:
The next process involves filling up in detail personal details, and registration details in separate pages. In this step, you should be careful while entering the details such as Passport number, DOB, Residential address and communicating address, Occupation, Reason for applying to the IELTS test, type of test, module, and slot. Look out for the centre that is nearer to you. If you have doubts about selecting the type and centre, always get assistance from IDP or from Test prep partners like Galaxy.
Step 5:
In this step, after entering all the necessary details, you would be uploading the scanned documents of your passport and photo. After this, there is an optional section, RO, which is required by those who are applying through some organisations. It won’t be applicable for everyone. You can skip it if is not applicable to you.
Step 6:
In this section, you will be reviewing the application that you have filled. Check for spelling mistakes, and make sure you have entered your name as in the passport.
You can move back and forth anytime until you are so sure that all the information you entered is correct. You can also save it as a draft and come back later to resume it. Once done, click Proceed to Payment.
Step 7:
This is the last step, where you will be paying to book your slot. The IELTS test fee is Rs.16250/-. You can make the payment through Net-banking, Debit Card or Paytm. You will receive the acknowledgement for the payment as well as for the test booking in your email.

Re-Scheduling and Cancellations
Rescheduling or Cancelling the test would attract some additional fees. If you are rescheduling the test, you must do it at least 5 weeks prior to the main test or before your speaking test is scheduled.
